The village church Milow is a stone church in Milow in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Dehio estimates the construction time to be in the second half of the 13th century. Since Milow belonged to Brandenburg until 1952 , the church is in the territory of the Evangelical Church Berlin-Brandenburg-Silesian Upper Lusatia . The parish of Milow, which had 76 members in 2010, belongs to the Pröttlin parish of the Prignitz parish in the Potsdam district.

Building description

The wide field stone hall was subsequently given striking corner supports. In the east gable there are three lancet windows that were originally the same height. The west gable is trimmed and a timber-framed tower from the 17th century is placed above it. The tower is covered with a pyramid roof, the field stone hall with a gable roof . The ogival main portal is in the west gable.

The wooden ceiling is supported by two beams and posts. Presumably it dates from the 17th century.

Furnishing

A carved altar from the 16th century is part of the interior. In the shrine, Madonna is depicted in a halo between Peter and Paul and two female saints, probably Lucia and Dorothea. On the wings there are reliefs depicting the story of Mary (Annunciation, Visitation, Birth, Adoration of the Magi). The altar enclosure is dated to 1691. Two carved figures (candlestick angel and Peter) on the posts date from the beginning of the 16th century.

The church bell was cast by C. D. Heintze in 1754 and has a diameter of 58 cm.
