The church

The Oberbodnitz village church is in the Oberbodnitz municipality of the Hügelland / Täler administrative community in the Saale-Holzland district in Thuringia . It belongs to the parish Kahla Hummelshain in Kirchenkreis Eisenberg of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .

history

In the municipality of Oberbodnitz, a hall church with a west tower was built in 1812 on the site of a church mentioned in 1584 and 1693 .

Interior work

The interior is kept simple and classicistic. The pulpit altar is integrated in an altar gallery on the east side. On the other walls there are three-sided galleries with the organ by Christian August Gerhard from 1812.

Bells

The old cast bells from 1408 and 1507 were renewed in 1907 with three bronze bells from Apolda . The bell "Glory to God on high" and "Peace on earth" were melted down during the war. The big bell "A pleasure to all and everyone" stayed in the place and rang every hour and for the service .
