Reesen village church
The Reesen village church is the Protestant church in the village of Reesen in Saxony-Anhalt .
architecture
It stands on the church square in the center of town. The building is late Romanesque in its origins and was constructed from field stones. The opposite the nave slightly narrower in the East attached chancel dates from the period of Gothic . Instead of a massive church tower, the Reesen church has a half-timbered roof turret on the west gable and provided with a tent roof. The north portal and some windows date from the original time of the church, the three windows on the east wall have a Gothic shape, while the segmental arched windows were probably built in the 17th century.
In 1997 the church was repaired.
Interior design
The interior has a flat wooden ceiling, with galleries on the north and west walls. The classical pulpit altar , also made of wood, bears the year 1795. The oldest inventory item is the Gothic octagonal baptismal font .
