The church

The Protestant village church Reichardtsdorf is located in the district Reichardtsdorf of the city of Bad Köstritz in the district of Greiz in Thuringia . It belongs to the parish Rüdersdorf-Kraftsdorf in the parish of Gera of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .

history

In 1414 the pastor was named to Richerstorff , so that the existence of a church or chapel can be assumed. The next church was named in the 16th century with its own parish . The village church was mentioned during a church visit in 1529 .

In 1822 the village church had two bells and later received a third, which meant that the bells were too heavy for the church tower , so it was decided to build a new tower first. However, a new church building with a tower was built on a newly purchased property, for which the foundation stone was laid on June 29, 1840 . On November 13, 1843, the church was inaugurated in the Romanesque style with a stately tower on the west side.

The burial place was created north of the church. On December 6, 1874, the new construction and the new construction of the burial place were completed. The previous church was demolished.
