Evangelical Church Willersdorf

The Willersdorf village church is located in the Willersdorf settlement of the city of Tanna in the Saale-Orla district in Thuringia .

history

The church was built in the 13th century. A late Romanesque window, an altar canteen for relics , an exposed sacrament niche in the choir and a rediscovered central shrine of a late Gothic winged altar provide information about this age of the church.

Activities and Insights

From 2001, the church was completely renovated in five months. The peasants supplied timber from their forests. The church was renovated in blue because old layers of paint communicated this color.

The altarpiece is from the Rococo . A carved Lamb of God stands free in a frame with a symbol of the Trinity , while a figure of the Risen One stands by it.
