Dorfmobil Klaus-Steyrling-Kniewas is a multi-award-winning social institution that has been recognized throughout the EU to promote mobility in the Upper Austrian municipality of Klaus an der Pyhrnbahn . Michael Kornek is the initiator .

description

Distances within the local area of up to eight kilometers and the low population density make the municipality of Klaus an der Pyhrnbahn largely uneconomical for conventional public transport.

The Dorfmobil Klaus-Steyrling-Kniewas association promotes the mobility of people in the municipality of Klaus an der Pyhrnbahn who do not have a driver's license or who do not have a vehicle at their disposal (many older people, women, children and young people under 18 years of age).

Its task is to create demand-oriented public transport for the around 1200 residents in the districts of Klaus, Steyrling and Kniewas. This will make the named group of people mobile within the community:

  • You can use it to reach institutions within the community such as village shops, doctors, banks and, in general, regional goods and service providers;
  • You can take part in community life and various events within the community such as club afternoons, parish coffee, children's handicrafts, etc. and thereby strengthen social contacts;
  • In addition to the existing public transport, you can use the feeder function to the train and bus;

With collective trips with the Dorfmobil minivan at the expense of individual traffic, the environment is protected and traffic safety in the community is increased.

Concrete implementation since 2002
