Cross of thorns

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Cross of Thorns , fr. croix engrêlée, is a common figure in heraldry and can appear in heraldic tinctures in the coat of arms .

A cross is shown , often just a common cross , the cross arms of which have the heraldic thorns on all sides as a side line. The representation is based on the cut of the coat of arms , in which small arches taper off to a point. The cross can also be used as a heraldic image extending from the edge of the coat of arms to the edge of the coat of arms . It is then a continuous cross, i.e. post and beam in a tinging and without dividing lines.
