Doron Jamchy (born July 1, 1961 ) is a former basketball player from Israel . The 1.97 m tall Jamchy played the position of Shooting Guard , won eleven championship titles with Maccabi Tel Aviv and reached the finals in the European Cup three times . He is considered one of the greatest Israeli basketball players.

Career

Jamchy began his career with Maccabi Ramat Gan at the age of 17 , before moving to the renowned Israeli club Maccabi Tel Aviv after three years. There he established himself as one of the greatest basket hunters, leading Tel Aviv to eleven championships, seven cup wins and three appearances in the European Cup. Jamchy then ended his career with Maccabi Rishon . With 3364 points, Jamchy is also the most successful point collector for the Israeli national team , for which he played in six European championships from 1985 to 1997.

After his active career, Jamchy became a successful real estate agent and ran the real estate company Dana and Maya , named after his two daughters. He is also active on the board of Maccabi Tel Aviv and plays on the club's senior team. In 2008, the Jerusalem Post voted him the sixteenth best Israeli athlete of all time.

At the beginning of 2008, Doron Jamchi was one of a group of 105 basketball players who were nominated by the Euroleague basketball and / or basketball enthusiasts to determine fifty important figures in basketball in Europe , active in the period 1958 to 2008 and subsequently in Madrid in May 2008 ( Spain ).
