Dorothea Müller (trade unionist)

Dorothea Müller (born April 1, 1950 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German trade unionist and lawyer . Until 2007 she was a member of the federal executive committee of the United Services Union (ver.di), where she was in charge of the special services department (FB 13).

Life

Dorothea Müller studied law from 1969 after graduating from high school. In 1974 she passed the first state examination and in 1977 the second state examination. From 1978 to 1983 she was a research assistant at the chairs for civil and labor law at the University of Mainz .

She is divorced and has one child.

Union functions

In 1983 Dorothea Müller became union secretary of the Rhineland-Palatinate / Saar regional association of the German Employees' Union ( DAG ). She was in charge of legal protection and women. In 1984 she took over the areas of education and press and public relations. In 1987 she took over the management of the DAG regional association Rhineland-Palatinate / Saar. When the ver.di union was founded, she was elected to the federal executive board in 2001, where she was responsible for education. She was the head of the federal department for special services. At the 2003 federal congress she was re-elected to the ver.di federal executive board with 83.1% of the delegate votes. She did not run for the federal congress in 2007.

Dorothea Müller is the chairwoman of the DAA Foundation for Education and Employment.
