Dorothee Dickenberger

Dorothee Dickenberger (* 1946 ) is a German sociologist .

Career

Dickenberger studied sociology in Hamburg, Munich and Mannheim from 1966 to 1971 and graduated with a diploma. In 1978 she was awarded a PhD in the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Mannheim with a thesis on the theory of psychological reactance. phil. PhD. From 1973 to 2011 she was a research assistant at the chair for social psychology at the University of Mannheim.

In her research projects she dealt with a. with social influence, information processing processes in public environments, events of the turning point, control expectations and action competencies in the former GDR, determinants of academic success and measures to improve the study situation, and the career motivation of women and men.

In addition to her academic work, she was active in women's and gender equality work at the University of Mannheim between 1989 and 2007 and, between 2004 and 2007, she was also the spokesperson for the state conference of gender equality officers at the academic universities of Baden-Württemberg. From 2002 to 2007 she was a member of the advisory board of the Federal Conference of Women and Equal Opportunities Commissioners.

The re-tendering of the Margarete von Wrangell habilitation program and the introduction of the Schlieben-Lange program for women scientists with children go back to her work. In addition, she advocated the institutionalization of gender research in Baden-Württemberg and the possibility of part-time studies for parents in bachelor's and master's degrees.

She is an advisor to the Gender Mainstreaming Advisory Board of the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Social Affairs.
