Dorothee Haffner

Dorothee Haffner (* 1959 in Bamberg ) is a German art historian .

Dorothee Haffner studied art history, musicology and Italian from 1982 to 1991 at the Free University of Berlin and the University of Freiburg . In 1991 she was in Freiburg with the work De ornamento parietum sacrorum (1460-1530). Doctorate on interior decoration of Lombard sacred buildings . This was followed by a traineeship at the Rheinisches Landesmuseum Bonn until 1993 . In 1993/94 Haffner was involved in the conception of the 1994 exhibition Carl Joseph Begas (1794–1854) - A View of Home in the Heinsberg District Museum and in the creation of the accompanying catalog. In 1995 she became the director of the slide library and the picture archive of the art history seminar at the HU Berlin . Among other things, she was responsible for the conception and further development of the art-historical image database imago . In addition, she was significantly involved in the conception and coordination of prometheus - the distributed digital image archive for research and teaching and has also been deputy chairwoman of the board of prometheus e. V. From 2006 to 2009 he worked on the conception and coordination of the BMBF project HyperImage - image-oriented e-science networks . In April 2009 Haffner was appointed professor for museum studies with the subject EDV in the museum: Documentation and media at the HTW Berlin . She has been heading the Berlin Center for Industrial Culture since autumn 2011.

Haffner deals primarily with museum studies , museum software, inventory, documentation, digitization and long-term archiving of museum assets, digital possibilities of provenance research and industrial culture.
