Dorotheus of Tire (Bishop)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Dorotheus of Tire was Bishop of Tire in the middle of the 5th century . Dorotheos is mentioned in a document in Codex encylius , a collection of letters containing the bishops' answers to a survey by Emperor Leo I of 457 regarding their attitude to the Council of Chalcedon in 451.

It has nothing to do with the legendary bishop and martyr Dorotheus of Tire , who is said to have been bishop of Tire in the 4th century.
