Cod villa

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Dorschvilla is a historic building in Schörfling am Attersee , which was owned by the actress Käthe Dorsch for a long time . It is in Weyregger Straße 11, near the Käthe-Dorsch-Weg.

history

The Viennese hotelier Alois Heger acquired a plot of land in Schörfling around 1922 and commissioned the construction of a villa. It is known of the architect that his name was Weber and that he came from Vienna. In 1936 the son Ferdinand Heger became the owner of the house. The actress Käthe Dorsch bought the villa in 1938. After the Second World War , the house offered several prominent cod friends a more or less long stay. They included Karl Böhm , Heidemarie Hatheyer , Heinz Fischer-Karwin and Max Lorenz . The friendship with Elisabeth Schwarzkopf , who also lived here, together with the efforts of the Dorsch, meant that the Kammerer Palace Concerts could take place again from 1947. After the death of Käthe Dorsch, the villa remained in the family's possession. The property went to Zamfira Dorsch, Käthe's sister-in-law, in 1961.

Todays use

In 1962 the villa was sold to Käthe and Albin Zwach. They renovated and modernized the villa. Käthe Zwach added a winter garden to the garage and opened a gallery in 1989, which she opened every summer. In 2005, a new gallery was built based on designs by Hannes Rohringer from Seewalchen am Attersee . Exhibitions by Christian Ludwig Attersee Paul Flora , Alfred Hrdlicka , Adolf Frohner and many other artists have taken place since the gallery was founded . In collaboration with Alfred Weidinger , the Gustav Klimt exhibition was realized in 1999 and Oskar Kokoschka in 2003 .
