life and work

Doug Duffey was already playing rhythm & blues and rock'n'roll in public bars in Louisiana at the age of 14. Young at heart, young at heart and always enthusiastic about new projects, there is a strong pinch of blues and soul above his music. As an opener in 2003 with his 12-man band and "as a special guest" at the New Orleans Jazz Festival 2000 and his performance on July 8th in the same capacity with the Jerry Beach Blues Band at the Montreal Jazz Festival in Canada, but also with his three successful appearances on Swiss television and at the 1st International Blues and Soul AVO Weekend 1999 in Zurich, he made a name for himself again. Singer, pianist, keyboardist, composer and lyricist Doug Duffey wrote songs for the Funk Pope George Clinton , Rare Earth , Marcia Ball , Zakiya Hooker , Jerry Beach and many others.

He worked with Bernie Worrell , Funkadelic, Maceo Parker , Fred Wesley , Bootsy Collins, Beverly Jo Scott in studios and on CDs with Keith Richard, David Byrne, Herbie Hancock, Steve Jordan, [s. Discographies and links on his website]. He has also participated in the most important festivals in overseas and Europe. The old master is considered one of the best ambassadors of Louisiana soul music. All of his published recordings - of which 10 albums alone contain his own compositions - contain an immense variety of musical styles and repeatedly prove his love for spontaneity.
