Douglas-Hamilton is the name of an important Scottish noble family .

The family goes back to the marital union of William Douglas, 1st Earl of Selkirk from the Douglas family and Anne Hamilton, 3rd Duchess of Hamilton from the Hamilton family . Anne was the head of the "House of Hamilton" since 1651; William was a younger son of the 1st Marquess of Douglas , whereby his descendants were also head of the "House of Douglas" after the descendants of his older brothers were extinguished in 1761.

The current head of the family is Alexander Douglas-Hamilton, 16th Duke of Hamilton (* 1978), his family seat is Lennoxlove House in East Lothian .
