Alexander Douglas Douglas-Hamilton, 16th Duke of Hamilton (born March 31, 1978 ) is a British nobleman and Premier Peer of Scotland.

Life

Alexander Douglas-Hamilton is the older son of Angus Douglas-Hamilton, 15th Duke of Hamilton , and his first wife, Sarah Scott. As his father's apparent marriage , he carried the courtesy title Marquess of Douglas and Clydesdale during his lifetime . He received his education at the private schools Keil School in Dumbarton and Gordonstoun School near Elgin .

On the death of his father in 2010, he inherited his nobility titles as 16th Duke of Hamilton and 13th Duke of Brandon and the subordinate titles 13th Marquess of Douglas , 16th Marquess of Clydesdale , 23rd Earl of Angus , 15th Earl of Lanark , 16 . Earl of Arran and Cambridge , 13th Lord Abernerthy and Jedburgh Forest , 15 Lord Machanshire and Polmont , 16. Lord Aven and Innerdale and 13th Baron Dutton .
