Fallon Sherrock (born July 2, 1994 in Milton Keynes , Buckinghamshire ) is an English darts player . She is under contract with the British Darts Organization (BDO) . Sherrock is the only woman to date to have won games at a world championship organized by the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) . Her nickname is The Queen of the Palace .

Career

Even in her early days, Sherrock, who, according to her own statements, showed little interest in the sport of darts in her youth, was referred to as a possible “next Trina ”.

In 2011, at the age of 17, she won her first major tournament, the WDF Girls World Cup . At the Winmau World Masters , Sherrock won the junior title the following year. Victory at the British Classic women's tournament in 2013 was the first major title she achieved in the adult division. Among other things because of this triumph and because of the good performance at the French Open , she was invited to the Winmau World Masters 2013, where she had to admit defeat to Deta Hedman in the semi-finals . A year later, Sherrock achieved her greatest success to date with reaching the finals at the world's oldest still existing darts tournament. In the final in October 2014, however, the British had to admit defeat to the then world number two Anastasia Dobromyslova . In the same year she failed against Dobromyslova in the quarterfinals of the BDO World Darts Championship .

Sherrock finally gained more attention when it reached the final of the BDO World Darts Championship for the first time in 2015. After defeating Anastasia Dobromyslova in the semifinals, among others, she failed at the eventual world champion Lisa Ashton . In the 1: 3 defeat, she threw six 180s and had a better average than her opponent. The tournament win of the Finder Darts Masters at the end of the same year through a 2-0 final victory over Dobromyslova was Sherrock's first major win. Despite great expectations, she failed in the 2016 BDO World Darts Championship already in the round of 16. Sherrock's attempts to get a wildcard for tournaments of the PDC Pro Tour of the competing darts association PDC by participating in the Development Tour , in which men and women play against each other in joint tournaments, failed in the same year. At the BDO World Darts Championship 2017 Sherrock showed an improvement, but lost her quarterfinal game against Lisa Ashton with 0-2 in sets. At the BDO World Trophy 2017 she lost 4-0 to the Australian Corrine Hammond in the first round. The BDO World Darts Championship 2018 ended after the quarterfinals after a 2-0 defeat by defending champion Ashton. After winning several smaller BDO tournaments like the Slovak Open or the Swiss Open , Sherrock secured the BDO World Trophy in 2018 with a 6: 3 against world number one Lorraine Winstanley. Sherrock could not secure a place in the starting field of the PDC World Darts Championship 2019 , in which for the first time two permanent places were provided for women, as she did not make it through the quarter-finals at the tournament in her hometown of Milton Keynes in November 2018.

On November 25, 2019, she won the UK Ladies Qualifier tournament in Wigan, England , securing the last place in the PDC World Darts Championship 2020 . She met Ted Evetts in the first round and won the game 3-2, making her the first woman in the history of the PDC World Championship to win an encounter. On December 21, 2019, she beat the number 11 set Mensur Suljović 3-1 in the second round . In the third round she was finally eliminated with 2: 4 against the number 22 seeded Chris Dobey .
