Lisa Ashton (born August 27, 1970 in Bolton , United Kingdom ) is a British dart player with the nickname "The Lancashire Rose".

Career

Ashton has been playing darts professionally since 2007. Two years later she managed to qualify for the BDO World Darts Championship for the first time, but had to admit defeat to Trina Gulliver in the quarterfinals . In 2012 she earned her next participation in the World Cup, but retired again with the same result. Since then she has been an integral part of women's darts and has been world champion four times ( 2014 , 2015 , 2017 and 2018 ). However, in 2019 and 2020 she had to admit defeat to Mikuru Suzuki twice .

In 2018 Ashton qualified for the PDC World Darts Championship 2019 via the UK Women's Qualifier . However, she was eliminated in the first round against Jan Dekker . In 2020 Ashton was the first woman ever to secure a Tour Card for the PDC Pro Tour 2020 and 2021 .

Ashton is married with two children. Her daughter Lindsey Ashton is also active in darts.
