The BDO World Trophy is a darts tournament that has been taking place since 2014 and is organized by the BDO . Alongside the BDO World Championship and the World Masters, it is one of three BDO major tournaments.
history
The World Darts Trophy existed from 2002 to 2007 , in which the BDO also invited players from the PDC . In 2006 the head of the PDC, Barry Hearn , announced that in the future players of the PDC would no longer take part in the World Darts Trophy . The event was then discontinued. In 2014 the BDO started the tournament under the new name BDO World Trophy , but still without PDC players.
