The Finder Darts Masters , also known as Zuiderduin Masters , is a darts tournament that has been held since 1995. The venue has been the Zuiderduin Hotel in Egmond aan Zee ( Netherlands ) since 2001 . The event is organized by the BDO .
history
The tournament was first held in 1995 under the name Dutch Grand Masters . From 1997 to 1999 the tournament was suspended. From 2000 it was reintroduced under the name European Grand Masters . In 2001 the event also got a permanent location, the Zuiderduin Hotel in Egmond aan Zee. Due to changing sponsors, the tournament was renamed again (from 2001 to 2004 as Doeland Grand Masters , 2005 as Leendesk Masters ). When most of the sponsors dropped out, the decision was made in 2007 to rename the tournament to Zuiderduin Masters due to the venue . Eight years later, in 2015, the Finder company acquired the naming rights for the tournament and is therefore continuously referred to as Finder Darts Masters .
Until 2008, the tournament was not taken into account for calculating the world rankings. Since it has been a ranking tournament since then, a separate women's tournament has also been held since 2008. Traditionally, the Finder Darts Masters took place in December, one month before the BDO World Championship . The tournament has not been held since 2019, as the organizer announced.
