Tournaments

Every two years, the WDF hosts the official world championship, the WDF World Cup , as well as three continental championships in Europe ( WDF Europe Cup ), America ( WDF Americas Cup ) and Asia and Oceania ( WDF Asia-Pacific Cup ). These four tournaments are known as Major International Events and have an impact on the WDF world rankings.

The tournaments of a season are divided into a total of 5 categories, of which the International Events is one. The highest category are the major tournaments. Below are the Category One, Two and Three Tournaments. Depending on which category a tournament is divided into, the players receive different points for the world rankings.

As of January 1st, 2019 the tournaments of the British Darts Organization are no longer recognized. The reason for this is a rule violation at the World Masters 2019 . Furthermore, the BDO was given the status of an associated member, as it no longer officially represents a country. The UK representatives are the Scottish Darts Association, the Welsh Darts Association and the England Darts Association.

The major tournaments are (as of 2020) the Dutch Open , the Scottish Open, the German Open , the Darts Masters , the Welsh Open , the England Open , the Czech Open, the WDF Europe Cup and the WDF Asia-Pacific Cup .
