Douglas Bernheim
Bert Douglas Bernheim (* 1958) is an American economist .
Live and act
Bernheim studied from 1975 to 1979 at Harvard University , where he completed his Artium Baccalaureus (AB) with summa cum laude. Then he went to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where he received his Ph.D. received his doctorate . He was then at Stanford University Assistant Professor (1982-1987) and Associate Professor (1987-1988). He moved to Northwestern University as Harold J. Hines Jr. Distinguished Professor of Risk Management (1988–1990) and as John L. Weinberg Professor of Economics and Corporate Policy at Princeton University (1990–1994). He has been back at Stanford University since 1994: from 1994 to 2005 as Lewis and Virginia Eaton Professor and since 2005 as Edward Ames Edmonds Professor of Economics. Since 1986 he has also been doing research for the National Bureau of Economic Research .
Bernheim works in the fields of finance , industrial economics , political economics , behavioral economics and microeconomics .
