Douglas waiter

Douglas Kellner (* 1943 ) is an American philosopher and professor at the University of California, Los Angeles . He has been editor of Herbert Marcuse's collected writings since 1998 and is referred to as a member of the “third generation” of the Frankfurt School .

Waiter placed the Bachelor -Examen 1965 at Doane College , and in 1973 in the subject Philosophy at Columbia University for Ph.D. PhD. Before that he had several study stays in Europe, including from 1969 to 1971 at the University of Tübingen . After completing his doctorate, he was an assistant professor from 1973 to 1997, then an associate professor and finally, from 1985, a full professor at the University of Texas at Austin . Since 1997 he has been Professor of Educational Philosophy at the University of California in Los Angeles. He is a member of the board of directors of the International Herbert Marcuse Society .
