Down Ampney is a place in England . It is located five kilometers north of Cricklade in the Cotswolds in the county of Gloucestershire .

The composer Ralph Vaughan Williams was born on October 12, 1872 in the Old Vicarage .

During World War II , the Royal Air Force used the RAF Down Ampney airfield .
