House Achenbachstrasse 24

The house at Achenbachstrasse 24 in Düsseldorf - Düsseltal is a listed building.

history

It was built by the architect Richard Hultsch from 1905 to 1906 in the neo-baroque style for the sculptor Gustav Rutz . The wing of the building protruding into the courtyard was rebuilt in 1907/08, 1931 and 1939/40. Both the courtyard wing and the front building were badly damaged in the Second World War. In 1951 it was rebuilt and the house also got a garage.

description

The plastered facade of the three-story house is divided into three axes, with the central axis particularly emphasized. On the ground floor there is a loft on which four Corinthian columns arranged in pairs are placed, which support the antique entablature and the flat gable. The ground floor is separated from the upper floors by horizontally structured plaster and a cornice . The windows on the upper floors are provided with articulated bezels. On the first floor, the windows are designed as floor-to-ceiling French doors. There is a balustrade between the two pairs of pillars on the central axis . There is a relief above the entrance in the left axis.

On May 4, 1984, the house was entered in the list of monuments of the state capital Düsseldorf in the category of residential and residential buildings, sub-category neo-baroque due to its high-quality design.
