The Drömt , also Drömbt or Drehmaad, is an outdated measure of measure for grain ( grain measure ) that used to be common in northern Germany . It corresponds to 12 bushels or 18 himten, that is, about 4.2 to 6.8 hectoliters depending on the region .
- Mecklenburg-Strelitz 1 load = 4 Wispel = 8 Drömt = 100 bushels = 1600 Metzen
-
Lübeck 1 load = 8 Drömt = 24 tons = 96 bushels = 384 barrels
- 1 Drömt = 23,976 Parisian cubic inches = 475.1 liters (oats)
- 1 Drömt = 20,208 Parisian cubic inches = 400 liters (other grains)
-
Mecklenburg and Rostock
- 1 Drömt = 23,526.5 Parisian cubic inches = 466.2 liters
-
Western Pomerania and Stralsund, despite Prussian grain dimensions, also counted
- 1 Drömt 12 bushels = 48 Vehrt / Viertel = 192 Metzen = 23,568 Parisian cubic inches = 467 liters
- Lauenburg 1 Drömt = 561 liters
Derived from this, the Drömt was occasionally used as a unit for the arable land that could be cultivated with the corresponding amount of seeds , for example on Fehmarn : 1 Drömt = 36 square rods = 256 square feet
