Dr. med. Mabuse - magazine for all health professions is a specialist magazine that is published six times a year byMabuse Verlagin Frankfurt, based in the Ökohaus, and is committed to a health systembased on solidarity.

The magazine sees itself as a forum for contributions and debates from all health professions and, since its foundation as a student union newspaper for left-wing medical students in 1976, has set itself the goal of taking a critical, independent look at the health care system and social and health policy .

In addition, the magazine wants to support the various health professions in an interdisciplinary way in getting better into conversation with each other, for example about how the fields of work, patient care and the health system in general with its structures can be improved and designed to show solidarity . The authors of the articles come from all health professions, but also lecturers and scientists as well as schoolchildren and students from various health professions and specialist journalists write for the magazine.

Since 2003, a key topic has been dealt with in detail in each issue; in 2012, for example, the topics of evidence-based medicine , outpatient care, HIV / AIDS , working in teams, lobbying and demographic change . In addition, articles appear on current developments in health policy and the various health professions as well as on ongoing discussions on nursing and care for the elderly , psychiatry , training / studies, public health, ethics , pharmaceutical policy or health in the “ Third World ”.

In the field of care , the editorial team has been supported by a so-called autonomous care editorial team since 1987. This was founded by nursing pioneer Hilde Steppe and today consists of six permanent members who work full-time in different nursing professions.

The taz wrote in an article in 2007 for the 30th anniversary of Dr. med. Mabuse : “Started as a grassroots project and equipped with the will to survive of poorly paid but motivated employees, she is still independent today. Instead of the remuneration scheme for doctors, Mabuse focuses on two-tier medicine, the women's movement or the tricks of the pharmaceutical industry. "
