The genus of the dragon rotifers ( Synchaeta ) belongs to the tribe of the rotifers (Rotatoria).
Features and build
The body is bell-shaped or V-shaped, the foot is short. The animals have four short spines and two conspicuous auricles on their heads.
Way of life
The dragon rotifers are fast and agile swimmers, they live planktonically .

- Synchaeta tremula ( Müller , 1786) has a cone-shaped body, two cerebral eyes and lives planktonically in lakes and ponds.
- Synchaeta pectinata ( Ehrenberg , 1832) has a bell-shaped body, a cerebral eye and lives in planktonic form in various types of water.
