Wire roll "Am Hurk"

The wire roll "Am Hurk" is a monument in the Evingsen district of the city of Altena in the Sauerland .

The wire drawing shop , the exact age of which is unknown, was mentioned in documents as early as 1804 as one of twelve similar factories in the Springer Valley. In the 20th century it was only used as a grinding and polishing mill. The inventory today includes a roller drum , an awl grinding bench and a fine wire puller .
