Rennofen Gut Berentrop
The Rennofen Gut Berentrop is a cultural monument in the Sauerland town of Neuenrade and is located near the remaining buildings of the former Berentrop Abbey .
The Rennofen , a simple clay oven, was uncovered in 1965. It dates from the 13th century and is evidence of the industrialization of the Märkisches Kreis in the early Middle Ages. The iron ore, smelted with charcoal using a bellows , was then processed into wrought iron .
