Racket

Draufschläger is an old job title for a metalworker in a forge who assisted the blacksmith in the manufacture of workpieces. The top bat had the task with Hammer tools to machine a workpiece to be forged or scythes to peening , the blacksmith conducted the whole production process.

Around 1786 the daily wage for a racket in Langerfeld is seven stüber .

Dialect forms are, according to Julius Leithäuser im Barmen (Rhenish / Westphalian mixed language area), Dropschleger or Dropklopper (pronounced Droppkloppo, from Draufklopfer).
