history

Mikko "Chimedra" Häkkinen and Lauri "Morior" Karivaara founded Draugnim as a duo in Espoo, southern Finland, and released their first demo Paynim Crusade in 1999. Over the years there have been numerous line-up changes in which Draugnim grew to a group of six, which in the constant core to this day consists of singer Chimedra, guitarist Morior and bassist Turms. While finding the right style, further demos were released in self-distribution with Past Aesirs Grace in 2001 and Earth Gave Us Birth, Our Blood We Give in Return 2002, but it was not until the fourth demo Sworn to Waves in 2007 that the musicians saw their artistic vision for Draugnim realized. So it came to a contract with the Finnish music label Spikefarm Records , a sub-label of Spinefarm Records . The debut album Northwind's Ire was released in 2008 . Repe Misanthrope of Impaled Nazarene was responsible for recording the drums in the studio . In 2010 the second album Horizon's Low was released, it was produced by Ville Sorvali ( Moonsorrow ). Draugnim has been under contract with the French label Debemur Morti Productions since 2015 . The current, third album Vulturine was released on March 11, 2016. This time Rainer Tuomikanto from Ajattara took over the drum recordings.

style

Draugnim play melodic Pagan Metal, which is accentuated by keyboard passages. The sound is more often compared to the music of Bathory , Windir and Summoning .
