Dream Iceland (loosely translated from English beautiful island ) is an island off the southwest coast of Anvers Island in the West Antarctic Palmer Archipelago . It is located 1.5 km southeast of Cape Monaco in the entrance to Wylie Bay .
The Royal Navy's hydrographic surveying unit carried out a geodetic survey of the island between 1956 and 1957 . The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1959 after its idyllic appearance, which it is given by a cave, a waterfall and green areas made of grass and moss, especially in the Antarctic summer months.
