Dream of a Lifetime is an album of songs by Marvin Gaye .
Dream of a Lifetime wasn't released until after Marvin Gaye's death and includes both pieces he worked on shortly before his death and songs he recorded but not released over the years.
The difference between the newer and the older songs can hardly be ignored. The newer songs are very synthesizer- heavy and lyrically located below the belt ( Savage in the Sack or Masochistic Beauty ). The older titles, however, are strongly reminiscent of Gaye's most successful times and his releases in the early 1970s (e.g. Symphony or It's Madness ).
All in all, Dream of a Lifetime is not a homogeneous album in itself, but rather a Marvin Gaye compilation and the record company's attempt to earn money with the death of the artist.
