Three-color house

The three-color house in Stuttgart-Mitte is located on Bebenhäuser Hof street not far from Königstrasse and is Stuttgart's oldest brothel .

Location and nature

The house is located in the lively inner-city quarter between the end of Königstrasse and the market square with Stuttgart's town hall . The name comes from its distinctive red-white-blue house paint. In the Laufhaus , which has been in existence since 1957, 67 prostitutes (as of 2007) of various nationalities work. In the three connected buildings, including the basement, the "DFH" has five floors with up to 24 rooms per house, the numbering of which dates from the time when the corridors of the houses were still separated and access was only via the courtyard.

Ambience

The interior and the state of the interior are kept in the style of the founding year 1957. The rooms are equipped with a washbasin, corridors and stairs are rather functional in accordance with the construction. The approximately twelve square meter rooms are furnished according to the range of services and the tenant's taste. At the entrance and on the floors, supervisors contribute to a regular process. Emergency bell buttons are installed in the rooms.

genre

It is a pure Laufhaus in the classic sense without additional club rooms or bar. At the time, it was approved by the city as a pure prostitute dormitory with social justification and strict requirements for the operator, especially about pimping and other legal violations or complaints from the outset to limit. There is also a canteen that is not open to the public , shared bathrooms, showers and sanitary rooms for the residents. For a long time, the DFH was a role model for other institutions in Germany.
