Three funny fellows

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Three funny journeymen is the title of a four-volume series of children's books that is considered one of the most famous works by the Estonian author Eno Raud . The main characters of the child-friendly illustrated books by Edgar Valter , which have a length of around 90 to 140 pages, are the Wichtel Halbschuh, Moosbart and Muff. Although there are substantive relationships between the volumes, each book is a complete story.

While the three elves in the first volume free a city from a cat plague, in the second part the resulting problem follows that the mice and rats can now reproduce unhindered. In the third part they try to live with the fame that resulted from their saving the city, in addition Moosbart is kidnapped. In the last volume, Muff is dragged into a forest by a wolf on a trip to the sea, while Half-Shoe and Moosbart fall into rabbit traps in search of him.

The books published in Estonia - or the time for the Soviet Union belonging to the Estonian SSR - under the original titles "Naksitrallid" (1972), "Naksitrallid. Teine raamat ”(1975),“ Jälle need naksitrallid. Esimene raamat ”(1979) and“ Jälle need naksitrallid. Teine raamat ”(1982). The German -language editions published in the German Democratic Republic (GDR), some with the name of the Estonian publisher Tallinn Perioodika, were among the most popular children's books in the country in the 1980s and were reissued by the Leipzig children's book publisher after 1990.

In 2009 the Wellenreiter Verlag produced four separate CDs with a staged reading of the volumes as audio books, each lasting 2 hours, with the speaker Jörg Schüttauf . These readings are intended for primary school children.
