The separation Bach Chapel or actually Trinity Chapel , also Trenbach Chapel or Trenbachkapelle is the smallest of the four chapels at the former cathedral cloister of Passau cathedral and grave lay by Prince Bishop Urban of separation Bach († 1598).

It is located on the west side of the cathedral courtyard, formerly the west wing of the cloister , which was demolished in 1812 , opposite the Andreas chapel . The chapel is a rectangular new building from 1568 to 1572, which was placed in the Gothic cathedral cloister with a two-bay cross - ribbed vault . The ribs, which are unusual for their time of origin, are primarily of a decorative nature.

The chapel is lively painted. In the vault of the chapel, inserted in medallions and entwined with grotesques , the church fathers are depicted in the first yoke and the evangelists with their attributes in the second yoke. The large fresco to the left of the entrance depicts the resurrection of the dead for the Last Judgment, next to it the fall of man in paradise (epitaph on the front wall, center) and the expectation of salvation of the old and the new covenant (epitaph on the front wall, side pictures).

The high grave of the donor, built around 1570 to 1580, forms the center of the room. His family tree is shown on the right wall of the entrance. The wall is painted in the manner of a columbarium and contains over 140 inscribed entries about the ancestors of the bishop. There are also other gravestones in the chapel, including that of Hans Gerl, Trennbach's court jester.

A three-part altar made of red marble and yellow-gray limestone is also important. It dates from the early 17th century and shows scenes from the Old and New Testaments on its reliefs. These are typologically related to each other and explained with inscriptions in Latin, Greek and Hebrew.
