The branch church of the Holy Trinity is a church in Strassen , East Tyrol. It lies at an altitude of 1098 m and the diameter of the building is 17.50 m.

history

In 1638 an existing chapel was enlarged and inaugurated in 1641 by the auxiliary bishop of Brixen Anton von Crosini . Since the church was too small, the entire chapel was torn down to the foundation walls in spring 1763 and a new building began under the contractor Thomas Mayr from Lienz . In 1930 an interior renovation was carried out and a sacristy egg extension followed .

In the years 1949 to 1952 the church roof was re-covered with shingles and the outer facade was renovated. In 1954 the two confessionals were set up and replaced by new ones in 1979. In the years 1977–1979 and 1990 a complete interior and exterior restoration was carried out, the financing was largely through donations . On July 15, 1979, the church was consecrated by Diocesan Bishop Paulus Rusch .

art

The dome, which is divided into eight fields, was painted with frescoes by the Brixen court painter Franz Anton Zeiller in 1768. The altarpiece of the high altar shows the coronation of Mary by the Most Holy Trinity and was made by Johann Mitterwurzer in 1778; this is an enlarged replica of the altarpiece in the old chapel. The fresco of the Good Shepherd on the tower was created in 1979 by Oswald Kollreider . In the church there is a pneumatic ten-register organ from 1902 .
