Dreilindengrund

The Dreilindengrund is a section of the banks of the Peene River in the east of the city of Wolgast in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania , which has been used primarily as an urban bathing area for several decades.

The name of the Dreilindengrund, which is located in the Wolgast district of Tannenkamp, goes back to the transfer of the Swedish King Gustav II Adolf, who died in the Thirty Years' War , from Wolgast to Sweden on July 16, 1633. At the place of the landing stage from which the ship with the body of the king left, three linden trees were planted in his memory . The naming of a forest near this bank point as the Gustav-Adolf-Schlucht has its origin in this event.

In addition to being used as a bathing area, equipped with a volleyball field and a campfire site , there is also a marina of the same name on Dreilindengrund . In addition, between 1964 and 1994 there were eleven races organized by MC Wolgast at Dreilindengrund for the GDR championships and German championships in motorboat sports.
