Dresewitz
Dresewitz , also Tresewitz , is a desert near Gerbstedt in Saxony-Anhalt .
geography
Dresewitz lies in a valley north of Gerbstedt, a trickle rises here, but it does not leave the desert. Nothing can be seen of the old village pond, but there are some ruins of a newer farm building and a larger boulder. A larger, now dry, stream from Lodderstedt flowed through the desert .
history
The place Dresewitz was a Slavic foundation. Around 1254 the St. Johannis Church in Schraplau owned 2.5 Hufen acres here, around 1311 St. Stephen's Cathedral in Halberstadt also had 2.5 Hufen acres here. Then a Vorwerk of the Gerbstedt monastery was built. In 1618 a pond was created in Dresewitz. On April 4, 1636, the place was finally cremated.
