Triplet vessel
Triple vessel is a group of vessels that are made up of three mostly smaller ceramic vessels that are connected to one another on one level according to the principle of communicating tubes . A combination of two vessels is referred to as twin vessels . This vessel forms represent only a small proportion within the ceramic vessels from archaeological finds . Their distribution have this vessel forms from the Hallstatt period over Frankish and Alamannic burials of the 6th century to the Middle Ages, but they also come occasionally at other times and in other cultures before .
Archeology does not yet have any reliable evidence of the purpose of these vessels , so it is assumed that these vessels could have been used to mix drinks due to the interconnected chambers. These vessels are often referred to as cult vessels .
A specialty is a triplet vessel found in Italy from the first half of the 6th century, which has a circumferential lettering in old Latin script.
