Driss Debbagh

Driss Debbagh ( Arabic إدريس الدباغ; * November 7, 1921 in Marrakech , Morocco ; † in the 1980s) was Moroccan Ambassador to Italy (1959–1961) and Knight of the Grand Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Italy. He also held the office of Minister for Trade , Industry , Mining and the Merchant Navy from June to November 1963 . He was also Vice President and Chairman of the Banque Commerciale du Maroc.

biography

Sharif Driss Debbagh was the son of Sharif Tayed Ibn Brahim Debbagh and his second wife Zahra Bint Mohammed Soussi. He spoke Berber , Arabic , French , English and Italian . He had lived in France since the 1940s, and in 1950 received a Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from the École nationale supérieure des arts et industries textiles in Roubaix , France .

Upon his return to Morocco, he was appointed President of the Royal Aviation Sports Association in 1957 and also became President of the CJP (Center des Jeunes Patrons) that same year.

Marriages and inheritance

Driss Debbagh was married to Tami Benjelloun for the first time; the marriage remained childless. He had an adopted daughter, Nadia.
