As early as 2007, it was decided  to honor the close friendly relations with the small Himalayan state - it is a priority country of Austrian development cooperation (ADC) - with a park. That year Bhutan celebrated its 100th anniversary as a kingdom.

In 2010, on the initiative of the Austrian-Bhutanese Friendship, Cooperation and Culture Society (Austria-Bhutan Society), a Chörten , a Bhutanese stupa, also known as a lucky tower , was built by students from the Höhere Technische Bundeslehranstalt Mödling . The park was then inaugurated on April 6, 2012 in the presence of the ambassadors of China, India and Bhutan (the President of the Bhutanese Society). A mani wall was also added that year. The friendship societies with India , Japan , Cambodia , Mongolia , Myanmar , Nepal , Sri Lanka and Thailand also took part in it .
