Dryadocoris apicalis is a bug from the family of stink bugs (Pentatomidae).

features

The ocher-colored bugs are 7.5 to 9 millimeters long. The tylus (frontal wedge) is not enclosed by the Juga . Furthermore, a furrow leads from the stink gland to the side. Another feature of the bug species is a larger black spot on the seventh sternite .

distribution

The species is distributed in the western Mediterranean (Italy, southern France, Iberian Peninsula, Algeria) and in tropical Africa (Kenya, South Africa).

Way of life

The bugs are phytophagous . They can be found on various nightshade plants (Solanaceae) such as henbane ( Hyoscyamus ) or Solanum elaeagnifolium .
