Drymen ( Scottish Gaelic : Druiminn ) is a village of 850 inhabitants in the municipality of Stirling in Scotland . It is west of the Campsie Fells , facing Ben Goyne to the east and Loch Lomond to the west. The Queen Elizabeth Forest Park extends to the village. The entire area is part of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park , Scotland's first national park.
Often times, hikers on the West Highland Way stay overnight in Drymen. There are a few pubs and a supermarket. The Clachan pub in Drymen claims to be the oldest pub in Scotland and has family links up to Robert Roy MacGregor .
Most of the population commutes to Glasgow to work , the rest mostly work in agriculture. An agricultural show is held in the fields on the Endrick River every early summer.
