The Javakheti Mountains ( Armenian Ջավախքի լեռնաշղթա ; Georgian ჯავახეთის ქედი ; Russian Джавахетский хребет ) is a mountain range in the northwest of Armenia and in the south of Georgia .

The Javakheti Mountains extend over a length of about 50 km in a north-south direction. The northern part is in Georgia, the southern part in Armenia. The highest point is the Achkassar with a height of 3196  m in the Armenian part. The mountains consist mainly of trachyte . It is considered an area with high rainfall. The slopes are covered by a mountain steppe landscape as well as subalpine and alpine vegetation.

To the north of the Javakheti Mountains are the Trialeti Mountains , in the south the range merges into the Bazum Mountains, which run in an easterly direction . The western part of the Javakheti Mountains on the Armenian side is in the Arpi National Park . The northern part of the mountains in Georgia is flanked by Lake Parawani in the west and the Zalka reservoir in the east. The Maschawera rises on the eastern slope of the mountain range.
