DuMont's Bibliothek des Fantastischen was a book series published by DuMont Verlag in Cologne , edited by Frank Rainer Scheck , with predominantly international fantastic literature . From 1990 onwards, it published a number of essential works of fantastic literature in German first editions, including Edward Harold Visiak's Medusa , John Meade Falkner's The Lost Stradivarius , Arthur R. Ropes ' The Hole of the Pit and Claude Seignolles Marie, la Louve . Despite the careful editions with afterwords and exact editorial comments, the series was discontinued after only 12 titles in 1992.
