The Dubai Media City ( Arabic مدينة دبي للإعلام, DMG Madīnat Dubayy li-l-Iʿlām ) is a free trade area in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates .

It is located next to the Dubai Marina district . Together with the districts of Dubai Internet City and Dubai Knowledge Village , it forms a media and technology park .

The project was started in 2001 and the Dubai Media City now includes 1200 registered companies , including some media-related global corporations such as CNN International , BBC World News , Bloomberg LP , CNBC Arabiya, Reuters , etc. In the Dubai Media City, there are mainly numerous electronic Media groups settled there, including the Middle East Broadcasting Center , which produces the news channel Al-Arabiya and now competes with the channel Al Jazeera . The state-secured statute of Dubai Media City prevents political censorship of the publications and programs that are produced and distributed here, which is not a matter of course in the Arab world.
