Dublin Murders is an eight-part Irish - British crime series based on the novels Grave Green and Dead Equal by Irish writer Tana French . The series was produced by RTÉ and BBC . The broadcast in America and Canada is on Starz . In Germany, France, Italy and Spain the series will be available through StarzPlay . The first official teaser trailer was published in early July 2019.

In the first case , the body of a young girl is found in an archaeological dig in a forest outside Dublin , the Irish capital. Detectives Rob Reilly and Cassie Maddox take over the investigation, with Rob being caught up with his own past. In the second case, Cassie investigates Maddox on an undercover mission to solve the death of a young student.

Filming started in 2018 and continued in February 2019. The series was shot in Ireland . It is based on novels from the Dublin Murder Squad series by Tana French. Sarah Phelps wrote the script for the series.
