Conleth Hill (born November 24, 1964 in Ballycastle ) is a Northern Irish theater, television and film actor.

Career

Hill was born in County Antrim , Northern Ireland . He is best known as a theater actor. This work has taken him to many stages in Ireland , England , Scotland and New York City . He made his Broadway debut with the play Stones in His Pockets , for which he received a 2001 Tony Award nomination .

In addition to his work at the theater, Hill was also repeatedly seen in television series and films in various supporting roles. In 2008 he played one of the bigger roles as Mum on the British comedy show Peter Kay's Britain's Got the Pop Factor… and Possibly a New Celebrity Jesus Christ Soapstar Superstar Strictly on Ice . From 2011 to 2019 he starred as Varys on the HBO television series Game of Thrones .
